How we show up
Matters.
Be who you are.
Help others.
Leading Allen High School—the largest school in the nation—is my dream job. I get to do this work not because I have an advanced degree or am smarter than anybody else, but because I have stacked up days and years of being myself, loving the people I serve, doing anything I can to help, and continuing to learn.
The longer I stay in the work, the greater my imperative to help grow our next-generation leaders.
But many of our best and brightest burn out early because they lose themselves as they level up.
When love leads, impact follows. When we love our work, we tend to stay in it. This, along with being blessed with health, wellness, supportive family, and great mentors, has kept me in the work of education leadership for over 30 years.
I believe in Simple Impact—daily habits that anyone can put in place and bring immediate and lasting results on their teams, in their work, and in their lives.
Impact isn’t about a title. It’s how you show up every single day.
